Nammu, the Halloween scare walk sounds fabulous! I miss having young children and being involved with that kind of fun stuff.

All I did was buy the tickets.

Today was a. Lovely but kind of windy day. The leaves have been falling like crazy. Today was the last of a lovely week of dog days. Starting tonight the temperature goes back down to normal and the rain begins. We’ve had a week of tv fall now the real fall starts. Dark, rainy and bitter. Bah humbug

We're still having warm days where I am. At night temps are sometimes dipping into the forties. I'm enjoying seeing the leaves changing color.

I've finally had two Starbuck's cups of pumpkin spice coffee. It's actually orange in color! I just can't find pumpkin spice coffee (Keurig cups) that's as good as the Starbuck's. I guess you get what you pay for.

I'm still reading up a storm--just got a big pile of books I ordered from eBay--many used, but some new at good deals. A number of them deal with pandemics. Maybe I just want to know that the pandemic we're having now could be worse!

We're still warm here, too. In the 90's. Ugh. I am so looking forward to dropping down into the 70's. It'll be awhile yet.

I've read my way through the past 7 months, too. Reading is an especially helpful tool during these trying days.

The nights here are down to freezing. We’ve been bringing the flowers into the garage for over night. But they’ll not last much longer. This weekend they said it might be a mix of rain and snow. Thankfully today it didn’t happen. But we’ve had days of high gusty winds. Today is mostly grey with little short spots of sunshine

Oh books. Just picked up three new books. One of then was a surprise! Too Much and never enough by Mary Trump. More background than most on the trumps. Lots of psychological reasoning for the way he is. It’s an interesting look at the world he came from.

My other two books are fun reads. B is for Burglar and the 17th book of William Kent Krueger. Only two more books and the series is finished.

I got up late today and feel like lazing about. It’s 11:30am and I’m still in my pjs!

Hello everyone,

I stayed home all day yesterday. I'm a caregiver. I don't like Halloween. I'm glad we went through the night safely. I'm in southern California. It gets cold at night here, and I'm grateful our home is warm. I hope we will have a peaceful week in the U.S.A.

Hello, CalMSW, and welcome to the Senior Forum! The temps are in the 50's during the day where I live now. I'm glad it's finally feeling like fall.

Halloween was quiet, but I missed passing out candy. We didn't even get any candy, since hubby and I are on a special diet. Boo, hoo!

I think there will be some unrest regardless of who wins the election, sad to say. I just hope it doesn't get deadly.

I'm still reading. I think now I need to move to some non-pandemic, more uplifting books. I just got several by Angela Hunt, my favorite Christian author.

I'm back to writing my own Christian mystery book, trying to provide some humor along the way. My teacher thinks I can sell it to a publisher! Time will tell.

Our housekeeper comes tomorrow and I hope her son can put away the Halloween decorations and get out the Thanksgiving ones. Unlike some people, I don't skip the decorations for that day. But I've already heard some Christmas music and, of course, Hallmark is showing its Christmas movies. I like to watch some of them--happy endings, of course.

What TV shows are you all watching? What do you recommend?

Watching some programs on the Smithsonian channel. Several countries in Africa this morning. A lot I know little about.

Is that channel specifically for those in Washington, NC and environs? I'm not familiar with it, but it sounds good.

I pray for peace while being prepared for possible riots this week and in the upcoming weeks.

I have been mainly watching some Christmas movies on Hallmark. I also watch Jeopardy, and I'm going back to watching Wheel of Fortune. I didn't like the Halloween theme, so I skipped it most of last week. I have one book from Rene Gutteridge on hold at the library. He's another Christian writer.

Decorating for holidays is fun. Have a wonderful day.

The only decorating I'm doing is an autumn wreath on my front door. When my children were young I used to do fun decorations for every holiday. I miss those days.

I wish I had a TV show to recommend! I'd like to find one. Honestly, it feels overwhelming to me because there are SO many ways to watch stuff that I feel overwhelmed. If I do watch a movie I stick with Amazon. At least it's easy to figure out.

I watch a lot of PBS. I’m not so taken tho with the new crop of shows. One is sort of good, Whatever’s the matter with Maggie, or something like that. It has Dawn French in it and she’s good. The others tho, ehh. Not in the mood for hallmark, much much too early for Christmas stuff. Maybe after thanksgiving. I found out I can tolerate the hallmark channel if I was without the sound. Their music really puts me on edge. I do watch a lot of gum smoke on the inspire channel. Mostly that’s mums doing. She likes westerners.

Last week we had a rare week of sunshine and 70’s temperatures. Was very nice. This week it’s back to typical November days in the 30’s. Snowed last night but didn’t last here.

Wow, snow! Well, I love to see it, but I know it's not much fun to live in. What part of the country do you live in, Nammu?

I live in southern Minnesota, land of 4 seasons. Sadly fall is a very short season. Snow is ok at first but gets old when you have to drive in it. It’s snowed about 5 times since the middle of October so far this year but fortunately it wasn’t much and it didn’t last. I like snow in December, Mother Nature aught to take notes and only snow the month of December! it is pretty to look at tho. By March everybody has had enough of it.

I also like Gunsmoke. Sometimes I watch "The Virginian" and "Bonanza."

I can imagine you would get tired of snow. I used to live in Ohio with four seasons. I live in southern California in a valley, and we don't get four seasons here. I can go to the mountains for snow.

I have to say I’m surprised how violent gunsmoke is. I googled how many time Matt Dilllan was shot and stabbed, it was a bunch, I don’t recall the number. Kitty was abducted a number of times and shot too. Fortunately the special effects were low keyed. I enjoyed bonanza and the wild wolf west too. They always had cool gadgets on that show.

I’d be afraid to live in California, if a fire or mud slide didn’t get you and earthquake could!

Oh wow, southern Minnesota - sounds cold! Yes, 1 month of snow would be lovely. I imagine it does get wearying after 5 months. I've driven in the snow only twice. Scary. I'll be okay if I never have to that again!

It's nice, though, that you have 4 distinct seasons. We used to have a decent autumn in northern Calif, but in recent years we go from summer weather to winter within 3 days. Very strange.
