I have been struggling with pornography addiction for a long time now. I am currently over four months clean. I am and married and have two kids and one on the way. This addiction has threatened my marriage. I need a sponsor really bad. Please help

Hello AndyanaJones: I'm sorry you are struggling with this. I've never been into porn myself. But I know, from reading posts here on PC, what a devastating condition porn addiction can be. You mentioned you're over 4 months clean. That's great! You didn't mention if you're seeing any mental health professionals... perhaps a counselor, a therapist or a psychologist. If not, that may be something to consider if you can. I myself am just an old man. So I don't think I'm the person you seek.

Here are links to 2 articles, from PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of porn addiction, that may be of interest:

My best wishes to you...

You can't stop porn cold turkey without replacing it with something else though. What are you going to do to release your sexual energy?

Do you still have a sexual relationship with your wife? If not, is it possible to revive it again? If yes, maybe you can incorporate something new into it to make it fresh and exciting. Go out on date nights, try roll playing, I don't know. I get that it's hard to find the time when you have kids but there are always babysitters and hotels.

Have you tried 12 step meetings? It's what is saving me. I go 3 times a week. I have a soon through another program and attend those meetings too. It took me 3 years to find a sponsor, hopefully it takes you less time than me.
