Back in November, I started taking Buspar for anxiety. Well, since then, I've noticed that it takes longer for me to build up to an orgasm when I masturbate. I can still get there with enough time and patience, but it takes around 45 minutes of stimulation with my vibrator to do so, and by the time I climax, I'm dry as a bone and stimulation becomes rather painful.

I don't have a single problem with being in the mood, it's the building up that is the problem. Now the reason I am posting about this is because I've just recently entered into a relationship and though my BF and I haven't had sex yet, I am anxious that this lengthy time of building up might be a problem when the time comes. I want to be fullfilled sexually as well as fullfilling him sexually.

I just don't want to be frustrated. I know I'm probably worrying quite a lot about things that haven't even happened yet, but I want to avoid technical problems like perhaps not being wet enough or not climaxing. Should we focus more so on heavy foreplay before going further, like massages and back rubs and all that? Should I consider getting some lube just in case?

I keep away from meds as long as I can for precisely this reason.

First, I find it a little odd that the buspirone might be affecting you sexually. It's often used to help alleviate sexual problems like anorgasmia or delayed orgasm caused by SSRI's. So to hear that it might be causing the problem is interesting.

Something about buspirone though; are you taking it in a consistent pattern? It's a flaky drug so you have to take it exactly the same way every time. With or without food and the same time every day. So if you take it with food, you always have to take it with food and on your schedule. Personally I take it at 9 AM with food and at 9 PM without food, every day, always the same.

So overall, I would take a look at the buspirone and how you're taking it.

Second, and in answer to your questions ... both actually. Getting more worked up with more foreplay should help speed things up when you get to the deed itself and regardless of any issues, lube is always a good idea.

Well, I've looked into things and you're right Webgoji. Buspar should be allieviating my anorgasmia, not contributing to it. Maybe it's just me being me or something.

Thanks all for your help. I'll look into getting some lube.
