I am probably experiencing decreased testosterone due to being male and nearly 50. Or maybe it is something else.

So I realize I feel mildly horny, but I don't care. I'm not in a relationship. In the past I masturbated as needed to relieve the frustration. Now I just don't care. I just don't have the energy or enthusiasm to masturbate. I don't know if I'm less horny or if I'm just depressed or something. I don't know if my hormones are decreasing or what.

Anybody else gone through this stage of life? Maybe you can give me some clues. Am I tired because my testosterone is low?

Have you tried testosterone treatment? I have heard people mention that they have done a lot of good for making them feel young again.

Thanks. I mentioned this possibility to a doctor that I saw about a year ago, but he told me that since I had facial hair my testosterone was just fine. My sister who is a family doctor in another state thought that was hilarious.

Long story short, it seems that doctors are somewhat reluctant to prescribe testosterone, because many people simply want to enhance their love life. My sister told me that testosterone is actually very complicated, and the blood tests they typically perform aren't detailed enough to diagnose a deficiency.

But I should give it another try. Persistence is important.

Another issue is that I do not have a romantic partner, so I wonder if it's just as well that my sex drive is disappearing. It is just weird to be so disconnected. I can still have an erection, but I no longer have any excitement from looking at pretty women on the internet. I feel disconnected.
