I've been wondering if I might have vaginismus of some varying degree. I hate going to the gyno because it hurts a lot when he puts the speculum in and I can feel my body seizing up down there like it's trying to expel the intrusive device. It was very painful the last time I went there when he put the speculum in to take out my old IUD and put in a fresh new one (this was a separate pain from the pain of the procedure itself). Also, the last time I had sex, it hurt almost like the first time I had sex. I was sore for a couple of days afterword and there was a bit of bleeding.

It's strange because I've had sex where there's been no pain before this, and nothing big has happened that I know of that could trigger the onset of vaginismus that I know of.

I've looked up treatments and they include doing kegel exercises and stuff like that. I might try that, but I wanted to know if anyone had some thoughts, comments or could offer support on this matter?

Maybe I'm way off, but my thoughts went to comfortability. We have to be emotionally comfortable with the person and at least somewhat relaxed, or else we're going to be tight and dry. Like with the guy you were with last, perhaps he went for it a little too soon & you weren't ready??

It's a possibility. Something worth thinking about, I think. (((hugs)))
