i googled it. if its giving off a stream of hormones (like it said) then there is always a chance that it will make her moody. its always dodgy to mess with womens hormones. ill stick with having too much testosterone ta.

The hormones aren't any different to what you would get in a typical contraceptive pill:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NuvaRing

A lot of women find that being on a contraceptive pill helps to even out their moods rather than antagonize them. How long did she give it a go for? I guess I'm wondering if her moods could have more to do with something else.

I'm kinda tempted to ask about this, actually. My office mate is on it - and I'd never heard of it before (just got released in Australia last year). I find it hard to remember to take the pill the same time every day... This looks wonderful...

Hmm....I personally started on the NuvaRing two months ago but then I missed my period the first month after and it totally freaked me out and the thought of being pregnant led to a huge crisis situation....long story.

I'm off it now and having a much heavier period so that could be related. Anything with hormones can mess with the woman's mood. I know Ortho Tri-Cyclen made me really *****y, while other pills were okay (back in college).

If she wants b/c without hormones the only real option is the copper IUD. It's good for 10 years and some women love it but some get heavier periods.
