I used to have epic dreams. There would be characters, a story, mythical creatures, you name it. Now I never dream anymore. Does anyone know why this happens?

I don't know why this happens. But I can relate to it somewhat. In my case, I know I do dream. But I seldom remember any of them anymore. (I'm an older person & I've wondered if perhaps, in my case, it's a symptom of old age. But I really don't know.) I recall reading somewhere, a long time ago now, that everyone dreams. We sometimes just don't remember our dreams. I don't know if that's really true or not. I suppose medications, psych or otherwise, might also have an impact on this. Perhaps other members will yet have some observations they can share.

Looking at what you have said, it sounds very much as if dreams to you might simply be a source of entertainment. Your attitude itself may be the reason why you are no longer dreaming. What many people do not seem to realize is that dreams are the Lord'sspiritual vehicle for correcting your thinking in order to align you with Him.They carry important psychological Self knowledge and need to be studied and interrelated correctly. They will show you how the ideas and beliefs you hold are working for you or causing you problems in life both on a physical and emotional level.

Since dreams come from a subconscious area, they are usually created by much emotional and fanciful, thinking. It is also possible that at the moment you are thinking quite realistically thus lessening the need for "corrections".

If you want your dreams to come back, you need to impress upon your mind the idea that dreams are of value to you - for the information they can bring you. If you state these facts to yourself every day a few times, your dream could reappear soon.

You are still dreaming as we all do. Look at your real life, any thing intense been happening? any changes in your life? New insights? Your life probably been calm and uneventful.

Ever try to imagine those things? You'll probably find your imagination doesn't work as well as it used to. I can still picture things, but they're not as real to me as they used to be. Dreams are part imagination. I think as we age, daily life gets in the way of the wonder we used to feel. Maybe our aging subconsciouses are too loaded down with life to dream so vividly. Try watching some movies or shows for younger people, or reading a fantasy novel. Maybe that'll help your brain get some inspiration.

Yeah, this is pretty much me as well, at least when I fall asleep the first time. Oddly enough, when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I find that when I get back to sleep, I end up dreaming most of the time, and vividly too. Not sure why that happens.
