Hello guys IÂ’m a Christian by faith and I had a visitation once by Jesus Christ himself about what would happen in my life. Not a lot of details but enough to convince me to follow him. During this time my mom had cancer since 2005 and is still alive thank God even though she has suffered a lot and went to 3 terminal cancers until now which her current cancers are stage 4 liver and some stage 4 cancer cells on her outer stomach. Even after all this I tried my best to follow Christ even though his path seems like I have to drag a cross with him. Recently though these past 2 years IÂ’ve been declining since seeing my mother sick has affected me more mentally and emotionally and physically. I saw Christ in my dream around 2015. Now years after IÂ’ve been begging God to see me again in my dream but now i only get scary dreams. For example I get dreams of zombies chasing me or seeing negative events like seeing my apartment building filled with darkness and me in a ally flying away from that darkness. The two main dreams that were major scares were death(yes death is a spiritual being that takes lives) chasing me around my car right after church and Satan himself chasing me in my own apartment were I had to lock myself inside my bedroom with lights on and he broke in and did some type of surgical attack to remove my heart. All this in my dream. Do you guys know anything about what could this mean with a sense of Christian opinions as well as logical opinions. IÂ’m not bias too much but i want to make sure I get some answers to help me cope with this. I would appreciate all answers provided. Thanks guys hope to respond.

Hello hardus: I'm afraid I don't know anything about dream interpretation & I'm not a religious person. So I can't be of any help with this. However I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central.

Here are links to 4 articles, from Psych Central's archives, on the subject of dream interpretation plus 2 on the subject of nightmares:

The zombies in the dream usually reflect the idea of functioning mindlessly. A person tends to function this way when they are "dead tired". Being chased by zombies would thus imply that you feel pressured to take evasive action to avoid having this idea get a hold on you,or catch up with you. [Have you been trying to avoid giving in to the fact that you are really tired and just keep going and going?]

Your apartment building filled with darkness implies living in a state of mind with opinions and beliefs that are without light, i.e. without knowledge and intelligence or any enlightened thinking. Flying away from this situation is fleeing from it. As the flying is happening in an ally, the scene could be suggesting that it might be "right up your ally" , that is, in your area of expertise to flee from this idea of having unenlightened thinking.

All spiritual beings in your dream reflect your idea or concept of them. "Death". also known as the grim reaper, is your concept relating to the idea that death is the "wages of sin"; it is what you earn as a result of sin. If death is chasing you it would reflect the idea that you are trying to avoid having this idea get a hold on you. Chasing you around your car would suggest that a rationale you have & use (the car) is a central issue where you could see yourself trying to avoid the consequences of sin. This seems to follow from your church attendance and spiritual knowledge.

Satan would represent your concept of Satan and can reflect a kind of thinking that is not obedient to God's Laws. Thoughts of this kind are unrightfully gaining entrance into your mind (breaking in) in a very personal situation. (your bedroom). Your attempt to prevent such thoughts from entering the mind are not working. (your door was locked) Thoughts of not being in obedience to God's Laws are doing a job on you (a surgical attack) with the result of causing you to "lose heart", i.e. to feel demoralized or pessimistic about something; to lose hope.
