Default Dreamt of a funeral for a deceased parent

The dream happened this morning. I dreamt that I was 40 minutes late to my father's funeral (in real life, he already died). In my dream, I was stuck at a substitute teaching job, babysitting an empty classroom while holding a baby. I asked the school principal if I could leave b/c there were no students, so that I could go to my father's funeral but he said no, so I left the school (I gave the baby to the school secretary in my dream) and drove to the church where the funeral was taking place. But, by the time I arrived, it was nearly over and my whole family was angry that I was late to my own father's funeral and shunned me after that and refused to listen to me.

Thanks raging vortex. He died about 30 years ago from cancer.

In the dream, no, I didn't get to say goodbye to him before he died. In real life, I did get to say goodbye by accusing him of being a terrible father to me, for which he apologized.

Oh, well, my entire family hates me now. Have for a long time. My sister treats me like you would a good neighbor but none of my cousins makes any effort to stay in contact with me. And a few of them I have never got along with.

Not sure why I'd have this dream about my father. Very strange.
