Hi. Just wanted to share a very strange dream/nightmare I had recently. Feel free to give an interpretation if you like.

I am drinking with these three strangers at their house and I am quite drunk. Through conversation it turns out that these ordinary looking people are cannibals[!] - they then began to dine[!!] But the horror of watching them eating the cooked torso of a human being with it's head still attached doesn't upset me much as the alcohol has dullened any feelings of terror[!] It's a disgusting scene though, very real. Well, against my own best judgement they talk me into eating human flesh with them and I go along with it willingly as I am actually very hungry anyway. I dine upon the human flesh noting that it tastes exactly like beef and I even forget what it is I'm eating! It was also completely understood that they had procured this meal through murder... Great horrors.

The next scene I'm in my own room with a detective policeman investigating me - who, incidentally, was Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones. He begins walking toward a sealed coffin with a dead body in it that I had in my room[!!] and I do not want him to see what's inside of it. So before he reaches the coffin I pull out a handgun[!!] and I walk over to the coffin. Before he has a chance to open it I empty all the bullets from the gun through the coffin lid into the dead body inside thus being very sure that I'd destroyed the incriminating evidence[??] - the detective whips open the lid. To my satisfaction all that is in the coffin is a pile of charcoal in the vague shape of a body, and looking at my handgun I say to the cop "Does a pretty good job doesn't it?" and I put the gun down.

But that doesn't stop Peter Dinklage. He kneels down and starts putting his hands into the ashes and charcoals sifting around for something and I notice him beginning to pull something out. He stands up and raises a charred chunk of meat in front of me so I can see, and it's obvious that it's still a bit fresh inside - a DNA test will easily show it's human flesh because it turns out that it's the meat I had eaten with the cannibals! - and I am under arrest. I don't put up any struggle and admit everything. We walk past some naked, very pale zombie looking people with quite plain expressions on their faces, and then I wake up.

Wow. How my own mind could create that is beyond me - but it must be saying something...

Wow. I don't know if there's a hidden message but it would make a good horror movie.

I've had several dreams that I killed a family member who had done some abusive things. I am not disturbed because I know I'd never do it for real.
I had dreams that I had my dead grandfather's corpse under my bed.

I think it's just our brains entertaining us. Maybe a bit of a tv show or book that inspired it?

Wow. Those are some interesting horror images you mentioned too. Yes, vengeance in your dreams. It's amazing though, how certain themes and imagery go across the board in terms of the dreams people have all around the globe. Many similarities. And again, last night, I had a nightmare where an uncle, with family standing around, 'euthanized' an aunt who was ill in bed, by shooting her through the head. Awful. But she sat up and started running around ranting and raving trying to hug us with a terrible wound on her head. Incredible.

Yes, I think horror films have influenced some of the imagery in my dreams Iris, it's probably my favourite genre - horror. And also I'm interested in World War Two, so there again [unfortunately] brutality and death features quite highly. It's seeped into my subconscious mind.

So are you interested in cannibalism? Perhaps the cannibalism and situation act as not so relevant symbols, but I believe this should be determined first. You may instinctively say no but has it tempted you at all?

It is a good question, really.

Well, the truth is, I prefer non fiction and sometimes come across, when reading or watching a documentary or video etc., situations where people resorted to cannibalism during desperate times. I've also read about serial killers who ate the flesh of their victims and I've read about cannibalism during warfare in various cultures down through the ages. I've read about a lot of different things. So, in that sense I do find it interesting, yes. Grotesque and totally awful but interesting in the sense of what must drive people to devour the flesh of their kinsmen and women. So, of course you wonder what it must taste like. But am I interested in performing cannibalism, wanting to eat human flesh etc.? Absolutely not. The thought sickens me. If someone offered me human flesh to eat I'd call the police. Horrors.

I'm not like that German cannibal, not that long ago, who advertised on the internet for someone to kill and devour - and someone replied and they went through with it! I'm pretty sure he went to jail. He was obsessed. He's free now though. There's a Japanese cannibal who's free as well. This is why I prefer non fiction. You don't need fiction!!

Edit: The German cannibal was initially sentenced to 8 years in prison for manslaughter but later retried for murder and sentenced to life. He's still behind bars.

I don't pay any mind to meanings...never have. I just don't think that way I suppose. Maybe I DO miss out on important revelations! I do however enjoy the spectacles unleashed in an unbidden subconscious. Greatest movie-making machine Gawd ever saw fit to assemble in my opinion...I just love dreamin'!

That said I had a cannibal dream once. Pretty weird one. I was supposedly a spy for the allies in WW2 and had infiltrated a elite sorta German commando unit and had to train with them. Part of the training was having to eat human flesh. The room in which this took place was tiled pale green and had old fashioned medical tables etc in there. The set and cinematography so to speak was seriously creepy. Anyway, I ate a bit and carried on with other things. The taste in my dream was like nothing I had ever experienced...it did not however taste like meat of any sort...just weird. The cannibalism, apparently, was just a step to the story. That's the main part that stands out in my memory however...I was pretty appalled. Great dream though! Love that dream adrenaline too! My recurring tornado dreams are great favorites!

The dream shows what alcohol can do to you. It can fry your brain and eat you. Yo don't suck out of the bottle, it sucks out of you.

Only you yourself may try to find out the meaning of a dream of yours. I assure it you.
Language used in dreams are built by our minds as a code. Isn’t it amazing? This language use symbols that may be shared by a whole cultural community. Based on that, many Literature has been produced on how to interpret this or that object that appears in people’s dreams. But, there’s also a smaller cultural community, familiar one, whom a same symbol could have a different meaning. Then, it’s our own personal experiences and livings, also with a different meaning. So again, in my opinion, you are the only one who may try to find a meaning or maybe someone who may knows you very well could also add a little of light but in my opinion, that’s it.
