Has anyone had dreams of hearing music? I do at times. Mostly music I've heard and like. Sometimes I hear nice sounding music in my dreams something I have not heard before. I wish I had the ability to write music like a professional. That nice music goes out of my mind within a couple of hours.

That is very interesting.
Although I am a musician and do some musical composition, I can't remember ever having a dream of hearing music. Could you record the music you hear after you wake up using a musical instrument or just "humming" it? Music is so wonderful and mysterious, isn't it? |

Yes, @will19. I've had music in my dreams. People singing as well. The most angelic, beautiful, soulful sounds from the depths of the subconscious mind - and I've woken up with tears in my eyes from it, on occasion.

Yes all the time. I go to concerts in my dreams sometimes. Cheaper than going to a concert in real life! HAHA
Or, sometimes I will be a professional musician in my dreams and play with a band and actually hear the music. It's cool. I love how the brain works during sleep. Sometimes I feel like I'm happier asleep than when I'm awake b/c I have some awesome dreams. |

@will19 check out this online software for writing music. Music theory at the basic level will teach you the names of notes, and then the placement of notes on the bass and treble clefs which are the music staffs that musical composers use to write music on, much like a journalist uses Word for writing an article that follows a certain writing formula.

Noteflight is good if you already know music theory. If you don't, it's useless until you do.
@will19 if you don't know music theory (how to read music and etc.) How to Read SheetMusic (readsheetmusic.info/basics_of_counting_rhythms.shtml) is an excellent way to start. Just take it slowly. The pages are deceptively short. Each page should take you quite some time to study and memorize. Remember, you're learning to read Egyptian hieroglyphics here. @Yaowen I hope you have a dream like that one day. Waking up after singing along to the radio is just as energizing as singing along with the radio in real life. Especially if it's one of your all-time favorites. Mind you, I usually wake up and realize that not only have I never heard that song before, It's not even close to anything I've ever heard. When you write a song in your dreams and remember enough of it to write it down when you wake up, it really holds a special place in your heart. Oh, and check out that site I told will19 about. I'd love to know what you think about it. __________________ The three greatest words are "I love you". The next two greatest are "mea culpa". |

Some of my dreams has a sound track, just like a movie.
