I cant seem to present myself positively in public, the dry eyes issue have been affecting me, not sure if its partly due to mood.
It make me look like i have cried when i'm not. Very awkward and anxiety inducing not just for myself but others as well, esp with how i portray myself.

And people stress me out. My presence attracts laughter and mockery. The more i put myself out there, the worst i am in terms of emotional state.

I just dont see any way out other than social isolation since its the safest option left.

I have Dry Eyes, too (actual condition), was given a prescription eye drop.

Social isolation over irritated eyes? There’s definitely more than just dry eyes to your thinking about isolation and anxiety.

I would have to agree it's more than dry eyes.

Isolation may be safer, but for me it makes depression much worse.

I’m feeling really fine right now with spending a lot of time alone. Yet we all need some contact with other humans for our mental health, or else we deteriorate. I’ve read this is a scientific fact. So keep trying to maintain some healthy human contact.

I've caused enough friends to feel bad and strangers laugh with my anxiety and awkwardness, besides dry eyes.
It's been mostly a demoralizing experience.

Hugs to you for what you are going through.

Maybe focusing on doing what you do best is a good way to go. Then you can feel more confident and use your strengths, rather than exposing your weaknesses.

I’m no therapist, just another human being.

I experienced some social anxiety and awkwardness at times and it hindered me. But for the most part, I was very comfortable around family, friends, strangers, authority figures, etc...

I studied acting and had to get over any embarrassment from literally falling on my face in front of a room full of people. I felt like the audience wanted to see me succeed. I felt, even if I blew my lines or fell on my azz, they wanted to like me and see me ‘shine’.

IDK, just some thoughts...

I'm sorry for the unkind [and probably superficial] people out there...I have rich family and friends and they give me "the looks" because I don't dress nice or have a nice car like them. It makes me self-conscious. My social anxiety only adds to the sense of awkwardness.

You may want to stick to hanging out with just a few safe people in your life who will love you for who you are.

I'm sorry to hear...I've had some people comment on my awkwardness too, not realizing I overheard them. If it's any consolation, we don't judge you here on PC, only support.
