It's weird that I only realized yesterday that my refusal to socialize for the past 15 years is social anxiety and fear of being judged for not having a tidy and clean house. I won't go into the specifics here because I already said a lot about this in other places, but to make a long story short, I live with a very messy/dirty person and I stopped socializing because whenever I get too friendly with anyone, they seem to try to invite themselves to my house.

For years, I thought the mess only bothered me because I'm a bit of an OCD germaphobe. I keep trying to get the house clean and thinking my life can only start when I have a clean home and don't have to hide from people.

Does anyone else have this problem?
