I do. Alcohol and benzodiaz epine make
things easier for me when I need or have to socialise.

I know it’s not the best way to cope with. And I know it can turned into a problem.

Nope. Wish I could, though.

Every now and then I use alcohol to escape my emotions, though. But that basically means going on a two day binge as I'm an alcoholic, unfortunately, ha.

They help mainly with lowering anxiety level but yes, it’s not a long term solution at all.
Yes, I’d also wish there would be a magic pill without side-effects that throw fears away and suddenly, wow...we are normal. No more worries about being socially awkward.

I try to always have a Xanax or visteral on me in case something goes wrong or I suddenly feel anxious. I don’t typically take one when I’m not anxious so I can avoid a possible situation before it happens.

I was over medicated for 15 years on psych drugs to deal with the symptoms but not the problem which is my body stopped making hormones naturally after I was in a coma for 3 months but doctors are not all knowledgable especially psychiatrist who are the worst doctors in the world except one I went to, who helped me explain the symptoms and why I did things that were not myself and I got off all psychiatric medication in May 2011 and finally was given the proper diagnosis last year in 2019 of hypopituitarism from my severe TBI.

Never trust you are probably over medicated like I was and off the meds my life has improved so much and I have my personality back but my family is pissed because they cannot control me anymore.

I see. I’m glad you finally got a right diagnoses and treatment. It had to be hard to live all these turmoils inside because of the hormonal problem.

I’m lucky that my psychiatrist is very aware that meds have been taken only the minimal dosage needed. So, he’s very concern with what I take. It’s me the one who sometimes abuse alcohol in social situations.

Why do you think your family wants to control you? (Only if you feel like talking about it)
