I'm feeling better after setting some goals for this year. 18 for 2018. I've been listening to some great podcasts to help me find some inner strength and a broader knowledge of self-discovery and being happier. I feel like since I'm hearing these things being spoken to me, I can put forth some effort to make my life worthy of special things and people. I haven't felt worthy of some of the gifts I've received over the years and want to change that.

Tonight I got out and read some of the book "Start Where You Are" by Pema Chödrön. It's about compassionate living. It settled me. I bought it at a book sale for like a dollar.

You sound driven and growth oriented.

What are some of the podcasts you've been listening to? Anything good?

Well mostly they are about growth and learning from experiences. I think they are pretty inspirational. "The School of Greatness" is a bit a-holey at first, but I got used to that factor and love it now. I also listen to "Happier with Gretchen Rubin". I find her to be easy to understand about setting goals and other things. She makes things funny and fun and just plain old easy.

I'm typically pretty hard on myself, but working out on a frequent basis really helps alot. Whether that means walking my dog(s) or hitting the gym, a good work out is my best self-compassion tool and I've been rocking it the past 4 days.

Being self-compassionate and gentle with myself is such a battle. But I did only what I wanted to do today in order to recuperate from a stressful week and prepare myself for the coming one. Trying not to feel guilty about it, but it's oh so difficult.

This week I have forgiven myself for allowing certain people back into my life...
I know that I probably shouldn't try to be 'friends' with my ex bf, or an ex-friend who has recently tried to come back into my life, but feeling lonely all the time isn't great either. I'm hoping that this situation is temporary, but for now I need to remember that it's ok to communicate with people I don't completely like or trust, as long as I can set boundaries. And maybe / hopefully I'll meet people who aren't so sh*tty someday...

Today I allowed myself a day of break
I'll take a longer one when I'll finish all the work I have to do
I really want to stop caring about how poeple see me..
I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself.. I know it's unhealthy but it's hard to stop tbh
Tonight I'll prob watch a few episodes of a series and play some video game. Yup.

I made some mistakes, but laughed it off instead of criticizing myself.

I am overdoing the self-compassion a bit. (Is that even possible?) But a little bit, every day, I am sticking to a routine. Get up, shower, eat, (do my jobs and projects for the day), relax, watch some TV, eat, and relax again, then right to bed. Over and over and over and over.

I always felt repetition and routine were a boring way to live life, but its not boring at all. It is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL in healthy living. Absolute chaos is fantastic, I am the first one to say it is, but if it is a controlled chaos with some structure, let me tell you, the sky's the limit! Maybe even beyond that!

I am being gentle with myself after a rough couple of weeks. I am not blaming myself for my depression.

I reached out to some good people on PC and I'm so glad I did (they know who they are!).

I really should stop worrying over my future hahaa.. It takes away all my current hope and happiness-
I should really look up for more self-care tips, I have a lot of work to do about that..

I like PC. I also take breaks from here. Sometimes, I just need to. It's a form of self care. I am on the cusp of millennial and being older than a millennial (whatever those are called), and the internet is sometimes just weird to me still. I think it's healthy to do things in real life, too.

I feel proud of myself because for once, when I was feeling anxious, I reached out to my boyfriend instead isolating myself, and it actually relieved me ^^

Well, I got overwhelmed yesterday so I decided to watch a funny movie and it helped me a lot. I'm trying not to get ahead of myself and take things in life step by step
