What have I done lately to feel empowered
Anyone can join, to each their own journey --- I have issues with self esteem, some times when I remind myself I've done something that I have felt was self empowering, it can assist with confidence and feeling better - believing a bit that I am worthy or can do something. thought maybe others, that may have similar issues with this, may take this place to practice seeing our own self empowering moments.. __________________ "A laugh is worth a hundred groans in any market." Today I got up and went to work, even though I didn't want to.
It's empowering because I did the best I could, and I even had a few laughs. I didn't sulk or be extra negative because "I didn't want to" at the beginning of the day. __________________ "A laugh is worth a hundred groans in any market." Charles Lamb

Ive been working on cleaning my house up. I know that sounds lame but there were many hot spots and clutter that was making me feel "cluttered". One day a month ago I snapped and thought "I am not having this anymore" and I attacked the big problem areas. My husband came home and he helped too. The rooms we got clean seemed like they never would. Once room was my laundry/utility room off the back of the kitchen. Going to the back yard you have to pass through this room. There was so much laundry and clothes on the floor that it was literally layers. It made you taller. Well thats gone now and Its been amazing.

I waited 10 minutes on a dead meeting, informed someone and walked away.
It's empowering because I compromised... I attempt to join a s scheduled call, had the courtesy to wait a decent amount of time if they were late and let someone know I'd be dropping and not attending. I am not angry, upset, sad or negative feeling about it.. __________________ "A laugh is worth a hundred groans in any market." Charles Lamb

I recently burned a whole afternoon waiting for a delivery. When the person eventually showed up, he was hostile and claimed to have been waiting outside for me for 20 minutes. This was a fabrication because I was there the whole time. I called and texted while waiting and he never responded. He was rude, refused to deliver the item even though it was right there, and left. His supervisor called me. I remained calm and described the bizarre experience. Never had such an experience with a delivery person ever before. Still burned a whole afternoon and have to burn more time for a new delivery time but at least I advocated for myself and also insisted that someone new comes next time. Because I don't want the same thing to happen twice.

That's what I thought. There was possibly something going on between the owner (I rent) who scheduled the delivery and the delivery guy. They were communicating previously....I was not in the loop which was also problematic. I wonder if perhaps the owner was rude to him somehow and then that was projected onto me?? I'll never know. When I told the owner what happened, he wanted to end the call quickly to call the supervisor. My other half couldn't understand it either when I told him.

My ex, which is my friend and family, mentioned he'd be down in 10 mins to assist to contribute with dinner/supper as he was finishing up some work... I waited about 15 minutes and just started without him.
I did text him at 20 min after with "20 minutes later ".. and he said he was coming. He explained his manger called. This is empowering to me because I just started with dinner, I didn't wait around as I may have done* in the past. I also didn't get upset, I figured either he got tired up or something came up or he indeed did get distracted. Yes, I am passive aggressive at times in joking ways with him, but* we both knew today it was a joke and a point.. he will probably "get me back" with dinner another day. __________________ "A laugh is worth a hundred groans in any market." Today I cooked, (and cleaned up) and prepped my lunch for four days out at least.. I have stayed within my idea of healthier eating as well with this... it's not exactly keto based but brown rice has a lot of healthy benefits.
This is empowering because I have prepped for what I know I will need in the near future and still trying to stick to my goal of eating healthier __________________ "A laugh is worth a hundred groans in any market." Charles Lamb

I advocated for myself when they tried to overcharge me TWICE equaling hundreds of dollars at a Motel 6 when I went alone to visit my grandkids in SanDiego. they are trying to fend off hookers and drug dealers. I am a senior, a former teacher with a marketing degree, so like, LOL you’ve got to be kidding! and had to fight the good fight in my day along w the rest of us struggling for women’s rights. I was seriously struggling in my mixed state, but called her on her bs and as punishment gave her a lecture on not driving away the good customers to fend off the evildoers. I then wrote a very strongly worded review asking them to fire the girl. I have been fighting off incompetence for my ex in the medical profession in Phoenix. We really have to write reviews, speak out, volunteer, organize, and VOTE as often as we can to make things better. Thanks so much for this thread!

I spoke up about a miscommunication that I could had been really upset and irate about but I was able to keep a middle ground with "get my point crossed and why it concerns me".
I was apologized to. In the end I hope we all learned something. Its empowering because, if this happened to me 10 years ago I may have been really upset and wouldn't communicate effectively... I've learned a little over time. Guess it's empowering to communicate effectively and be heard __________________ "A laugh is worth a hundred groans in any market." Charles Lamb
