aka "leech" aka control-relationship in which someone wants to keep a leash on you.
This article helped me out a lot because I saw many signs from my own past abusive family-relationship. I hope to catch these signs early next time and I hope this helps someone too : How to Know if You Are in a Parasitic Relationship (with Pictures) |

This is my mother to a T... Some of the language threw me off a bit because of "partner" but it's definitely my mother. I've known for a while that she is controlling and emotionally abusive toward me, but I have never heard the term parasitic. It makes sense though. I always feel drained when I have to deal with her even for a short time. I never get thank you's or please's for anything. It's like she can't do anything for herself when I'm around.
Thanks for the article. __________________ Diagnoses: PTSD with Dissociative Symptoms, Borderline Personality Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain |

I've noticed many articles on abuse are written for romantic relationships, but the concepts apply to various relationships (family, friendships, professional, etc.)
