before they snap and they aren't a nice person anymore? that they completely shut down and want nothing to do with anyone anymore? before they lose hope that people are good and believe everyone has ill intention towards others?

Excellent point, that makes me wonder about my own pessimistic lifelong attitude. And if everything just stemmed from the constant abuse & bullying I suffered as a child. What blows my mind is that 40+ year old bullies exist, & take shots at me as an adult. Very good question you brought up!
