I have been using cocaine for 2 years, and have hidden it from the people who care about me most. I want to get off of it, and I am very scared right now, because I am having withdrawals. I need advice about what to do. I am bipolar 2, and am very depressed. I think going to the mental health center and talking to a crisis worker about it is what I should do. I am scared though. but doing nothing makes me more scared.

I forgot about the alcohol abuse also. I have been drinking alcohol with the cocaine. I am lucky to be alive, and just want to get better. I haven't used cocaine or alcohol for 10 days.

have you been hiding your cocaine use. I think hiding it is as bad as using it. My brother and my father both have heart conditions so I don't know what to do about telling them. Maybe it would be better if I don't. getting help though would almost assure them finding out.

I urge you to go to an ER, crisis center or detox. The alcohol w/d can cause seizures and the cocaine w/d can cause heart palpitations and blood pressure issues.

I wouldn’t worry about them finding out or not. Go to ER ASAP. Take care of your health first then deal with the rest

I think your first inclination to go to the mental health center is a very good idea. I'm sure they will be able to point you in the right direction if not help you right then and there. Withdrawal can be hard, but addiction can be a lot worse. It sounds like you are living that reality through and through. If you have been using that long, the withdrawals will probably last on average a maximum few weeks physically and maybe a few months mentally. But breaking your habits is the main thing that will keep you clean. I would also recommend you check out a recovery meeting close to you. If you are in a metro area, most of them have at least one CA (cocaine anonymous) meeting, otherwise, maybe you can check out an AA or NA meeting. Even though you may not relate to the title, I can promise you that help can be found there. Good luck. I hope you find the help you need. __________________ Recovering from the past. Yes, definitely go to a mental health center if you can, sauciershadetree. You need to take care of yourself first. You can decide to tell the truth to the people who care about and start the right treatment later. But right now, you need help, and that's what matters the most. I'm so sorry, please don't give up. I hope you'll feel better soon. You can do this! You're strong, I'm sure of that. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you
