Amazing job, raging vortex! I would like to add some of the stories from my native language (translating them in the process) and please don't be discouraged from posting stories like these, because the thread doesn't have enough visitors....

The story about the zoo made me cry a bit. We need more humane people like Bill in this world.

Moral : Never judge without evidence.

A twenty four year old young man and his dad are traveling in a train. Next to them is a newly wed couple.

The young man glances outside of the window of the train and tells his father, "Daddy! Look, the trees are following us!", the father just smiles. The newly wed couple starts questioning the man's sanity, and gives both of them an awkward look.

After a while, the young man glances outside the window and tells his father, "Daddy! Look, the clouds too are following us!" The father smiles again. Bewildered, the couple decides it's enough and, about to call the conductor so they could request the young man to be dropped at the next station, asks the man's father, "Why don't you take your son to a psychiatrist?"

The father smiles, and then proceeds to tell the couple the following - "We are just going back to our home town after coming here in this city to see an ophthalmologist. My son was blind from birth."

becky bunny had one birthday wish.

she wanted the biggist carot cake in the world

on her birthday, all her friends showed up to her birthday party and gave her presents.

becky was excited to open the presents, but dismayed to find that each of them were just carots, lots and lots of carots

" oh well," thought becky bunny. " at least I'll have a lot of carots to eat. enough to last me a lifetime"

later becky went outside to play with her friends.

when mummy rabbit called becky bunny in, she thought she could smell something nice coming from the kitchen

slowly, becky made her way to the kitchen.

on the work top sat a huge carot cake, biggist she'd ever seen.

" I baked it for you," laughed mother as she walked in behind heer. " all those carots came in useful!"

becky hugged her mother.

she had her birthday wish after all

8 year old andrew loved one thing in life.

sitting in his favorite chair, reading a book.

it's what he would do all day, and at night, he would sleep in his favorite chair too.

well, one morning andrew finished his breakfast and went to sit on the chair.

but as he sat down, it gave way- and broke.

his mother tried to fix it with glu but she couldn't do it.

andrew cried

his mother smiled at andrew and told him not to worry, she would take it to the repair shop right away.

andrew tried to stop her from taking his chair away from the house...

but it was no good.

" maybe," said mum, " we can find you a new chair- just until you're one gets fixed."

andrew tried lots of chairs. some of them looked the same. others felt the same, one or too even smelled the same.

but they were not the same, and andrew cried.

" never mind," said mum. " why don't you come to the kitchen and we can bake some cookies?."

andrew baked some cookies with his mother, and then he ate the cookies.

but he sighed.

" it would be better to sit down and have these cookies," he said. " my legs hurt."

his mother smiled.

" don't worry," she said. " let's do some painting."

andrew did some painting

his mother smiled at him and asked what he was painting

" my favorite chair," andrew replied.

his mother smiled. " I know you miss your chair, but right now it's being repaired. come on, let's watch a movie."

andrew watched toy story

but he sighed

he would rather sit on his favorite chair, not on the sofa next to mum

" we could try bouncing!" mum exclaimed, and her and andrew went outside to do bouncing.

the bouncing was fun, but when andrew got tired, he wished he had his favorite chair to rest in.

just then their was a knock at the door.

andrew's mother opened it, and their stood the repairman with andrew's favorite chair, as good as knew.

andrew saw it and was so happy!

but his mother looked sad

" what's wrong?" andrew asked her.

" I've enjoyed doing activities with you," she said. " can't you do one more with me?."

andrew smiled. " only if my chair can join in", he said

" I know what to do." said his mother

that afternoon all of andrew's friends came round his house

and you know what?

they spent the rest of the day playing musical chairs

and andrew even won
sitting in his favorite chair

laura was going on holiday.

she was so excited.

in the car she kept talking about everything she would do when she got to the hotel

at the airport she sang songs and told jokes, and told everyone she was going on holiday

on the plain laura read a book, and then she did a crossword with her mother

then they got the bus to the hotel, and laura could hardly contain her excitement

once at the hotel laura and her parents settled in to her room and her parents unpacked

" do you want to go swimming?" asked her mother. " you've been talking about it all day."

but laura couldn't hear her

she was on the bed fast asleepp...
