Default Not giving up, but feel as if I am drowning

Hello to all, who I am hoping can share some ideas, coping skills, convince me that I am not losing it. Short version of my situation: Oct, 2015. I was working full time as an RN as a case manager when I started feeing really badly- mid epigasric pain. After no relief, I drove myself to ER, was admitted and was in surgery within an hour. Other than some significant falls, health was good. I am 5'11"& weighed 145. Shorter version: ended up with 3 more surgeries, 6 ICU admissions, and finally just gave up trying to work in Sept'15. Main health issue:A-FIB and subsequent issues with medications. On January 23r, my44 year old twin son died of a pulmonary embolism. I still have his sister, and my 39 year old son, his wife and 2 grandsons. I am married- hubby is retired police officer- crime scene investigator. We married in 1995. Needless to say I am a big old mess. I will share more later as advised to keep this first entry short. I look forward to meeting some new people and someone to share my issues with. Most of my friends can't seem to handle my issues.... I think they are afraid ....OMG DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO ME'

Hello Margee: I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral. Yes... many of us are here on PC because we have no one else to talk with about our concerns.

From what you've shared so far it sounds as though you've had some serious medical issues. Two forums, here on PC, that may be of interest would be the health support forum... & possibly the chronic pain forum? Here are links to these forums:

You may also find the women-focused support forum to be of interest:

Also... since it sounds as though you may be a tad older the seniors' lounge may be a forum you'll want to check out:

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.
