It's just bikini bumps, it's normal, either put on moisturizer, use nair hair cream remover, or wax it.

Waxing is probably better as it completely removes the hair - just make sure you moisturize enough afterwards to prevent ingrown hairs and you should be ok. Aloe vera gel or sprays like the poster mentioned above should help with any bumps you do get.

You could also try switching to a new razor blade every time/every other time you want to shave. I tend to get razor burn on my shins more than any where else and I've had luck with using an acne body scrub and rubbing alcohol afterwards the day before I plan on shaving.
I did get a Brazilian wax right before my wedding. I ended up with horrible bumps, but then tried triple antibiotic ointment (Neosporan) about 3 times a day and it cleared it up almost immediately. I didn't find the waxing too painful, and when it grew back it wasn't nearly as irritated or itchy. I'd love to do it again... maybe when finances allow or when I need a super good reward for myself. |

i prefer wax, when i can afford it. no bumps for me, hair takes longer to grow in, no stubble. it's somewhat painful the first round, but the result is nice, and the upkeep if done every 6 weeks is not painful.

I read somewhere to shave with the grain to avoid razor burn and then if you want a really close shave, at the last minute, shave against the grain JUST ONCE.
That seems to work for me. I don't use shaving cream, just soap and water, but I do use Venus razors. |
