So ... what's your pleasure (or pain!)? (from alexandra's comments)

Eyebrows: Waxed and shaped, BUT, the *best* method I have ever had is Threading. Just takes more time to get there than my usual beautician ...

Bikini / Underarms / Legs in summer: Waxed ... :> And not by me, I tend to be incompetent at it.

Legs in winter I usually resort to shaving ...

Your preferences, tips, tricks?

My tip: half an hour before bikini wax 2 extra super Nurofen works wonders :>

i pluck my eyebrows with tweezers. they are a fairly reasonable shape naturally so i just need to tidy up yhe stragglers.

i wax my legs on occasion but don't do it often because i don't like letting them grow. so i shave them instead most of the time.

fighting the fight against chin hairs with tweezers too. went to the doc about that incase i had ovarian cysts (producing an excess of testosterone) or something. hormone tests came back well within normal range, however. ended up with a little lecture on how 'different ethnicities have different distributions of body hair' and she implied i may have italian anscestry lol. i started taking estelle / diane to see whether that makes a difference... but apparently you need to be on it somewhere between 6-9 months before you would notice a difference.

i don't even bother to do the bikini thing. i don't wear bikinis or swimsuits so oh well. shave occasionally but i don't like the scratchiness as it all grows back (and find it a bit of a mission to get everything all smooth in the first place 'cause i'm not used to the direction of hair growth i guess). shaved it all off once but actually found that to be painful with bits rubbing against the seams of my jeans etc.

shave underarms. i wonder if you can epilady those... guess you can... bet waxing / epilady hurts like hell though.

one of my mates (male) wants me to buy an epilady so he can try it on his face. what would be more sensitive do ya reckon:

face, bikini, underarms???

owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I ALWAYS mess my brows up if I do them myself - lol. Not good to be even slightly lopsided, so I just get it done for me ... believe me it is for the best :>

Scratchy or shaving rash bikini line = not cool. I hate that stage where you can't wax just yet but I have to get through it ...

Hmmmm chin?? I don't know if I ever had that *runs off to check*

I LOVE having my eyebrows waxed. For some reason, I enjoy that kind of pain. I don't make it to the salon as often as I would like, so I maintain the aesthetician's line by plucking with tweezers in between waxings.

I have very little body hair. It's a genetic thing, I guess. I only have to shave under my arms about once a month and the hair I get there is very sparse and fine and blonde. I don't get hair on my legs above the knees. I shave the lower part of my legs, though and I HATE doing it. I have to do it every second day to keep my legs smooth. A friend of mine got laser hair removal on her legs so she NEVER has to shave her legs again. I thought that sounded AMAZING and I was going to get it done, but it turns out it only works on dark hair. The laser can't target blonde hair, so I'm out of luck in that department... so I continue shaving. Girly hair removal methods :>

For my bikini area, I use Veet Mousse depilatory. It works very well... and only takes 3 minutes... and doesn't give me a rash or ingrown hairs like shaving in that area would.

Alexandra, I get chin hair too. Just ONE, but it's a stubborn little bugger. I have to tweeze it about once a month. My mum and sis get one in exactly the same place... and I can remember my nana sitting in her rocking chair with her magnifying mirror plucking her chin hair... She always had that magnifying mirror and her tweezers on the table next to her chair. It's a family tradition. Girly hair removal methods :>

Juliana....was wondering where you've been. Girly hair removal methods :>

I love getting my brows waxed too. I maintain by plucking too. I don't go often...my friend gave me a gift card with a bunch of waxes on it but I'm reserving lol. I DON'T like the pain though. I'm always glad when its done, it looks nice so its worth it, but I don't enjoy it. I don't think I'll ever get anything else waxed lol.

I don't think I could ever get my nether regions waxed... too scary. I love the eyebrow wax though.

I haven't been around lately because my internet connection has been out of commission at home for the past few weeks. I've been so busy with work I haven't had time to make a service call. I'm hoping to have time to get it fixed next week. I've missed everyone!

I'm at the office right now. Just popping in for a few minutes.

i use twezzers for my eyebrows...
and i use a shaving razor for between my eyebrows..lol so there isnt just one big brow..and its really nice because its so soft and smooth inbetween ....and i use these really tiny scizzors with very tiny curved up tips and i trim my peach fuzz like...above my lip.....for the curved part is great to fix the curve in my eyebrow...

Possible CSA trigger

And on the topic of waxing....OUCH. Never ever ever ever. During the summer months (and only because of my job) I shave the bottom half of my legs. I shave my pits so they don't stink much. The rest of me is the way God intended. And if some guy has a problem with that - he can look elsewhere. I'm not going through pain just to make someone else happy. Just ask a guy to get his parts waxed!!

And another thing! Guys who want the whole kitchen waxed (so to speak), need to learn something simple:

Little girls have no hair
Grown women have hair
Accept this and move on.

Vent complete. Ohmmmmmmm.

Sorry you interpreted and associated it to little girls.........now that upsets me.

And as far as pain, there is none, but that would depend on you pain tolerance.....and like everything an individual’s choice.

wikipedia has an interesting article or two on body hair... and on how fashions / cultures change through time. with respect to pubic hair removal too.

i had a drunken conversation with a guy at a party once. he was european (danish) and we got to talking about pubic hair. he said something about how all removed is his distinct preference and so of course i asked him whether he removed all of his. he said oh yes indeedie he did. he said that (to the best of his knowledge) that is standard in denmark / europe. in his circles anyway (soccer players and the like).

so... i'm not sure that it is a little girl thing in particular... the same reason you get rid of underarm hair (odour) could apply...

my main issue with mine... is the pain of waxing, yeah. ingrown hairs. there is that. can you wax down there? i mean i know you can do bikini lines but i thought it was shaving after that... hrm... maybe i'll give it a go one day... but last time i shaved parts hurt with their rubbing on my jeans. ow.

Awesome ... I am probably every 2-2.5 ...

A little more often for the brows as I don't trust myself to do in between.

Good call Girly hair removal methods :>

I use to get my bikini done for summer, then after natural child birth ...you inhabitations just kind of disappear...! Girly hair removal methods :> Girly hair removal methods :> Girly hair removal methods :> Girly hair removal methods :>

I just gradually removed more and found it very comfortable and totally odourless.

My beautician is great and although we don't have a "personal' friendship ie we are not best friends, she is the same age has children the same age and we experiencing similar lives. I feel very comfortable with her and it’s just like going to the hairdresser. I think this is important.

The process is really simple, you can trim your hair with scissors before you go or the beautician can do it, they use two types of wax, first stripe wax which is the same for most leg waxes. If you haven't had this before you may feel pain, but it’s not unbearable.

They then use a hot wax which is best described like candle wax, and is soft and putty. This forms a warm tingling sensation and is really quite pleasant; the pain if any is very mild.

The only difficult part is maybe the position you have to get in.

The first time I had my Brazilian Yes I did feel naked, and it was a warm cheeky feeling...like I had a secret, there is no rash, after burning or itch feeling.

I know this may sound weird but if feels cleaner and there is less odour. It’s like getting a good short hair cut or spring cleaning. Obvious this is only a personal opinion and may vary for others.

With out being judgmental or offending anyone, I find that those important parts down below are much more sensitive to "love making" and the experience is absoultuly wonderful....I didn't know I could feel like that... This is totally a personal opinion and I had never really contemplated it until I had children and found my lovely beautican........once again that is a personal opinion and I am just sharing my experiences. Girly hair removal methods :>

None—I don’t shave, wax, pluck or anything. I just let it grow. I shaved for many years and it is so freeing not to worry about it. It took awhile to get accustomed to it—but now, I like the feeling of hair on my legs and under my arms. It feels really natural.

Used to get my eyebrows threaded when I lived in NY. It was always done by Indian women... And there was a large Indian population on Long Island... Here in Philly, I can't find threading anywhere. But the bad thing about threading is that the hair grows back very stubbly, and that's not good.... So I'm okay with waxing now, plus I don't really have a choice. Anyway, I get them done every two weeks.

Legs, underarms-- shave everday. Can't stand even a half of a millimeter of hair.

Bikini-- shave.

Beard-- shave. JUST KIDDING, lol.
