So I’m about to get married soon. As I will be sexually active, I’m wondering what kind of birth control is the best one? I don’t think I’d like the pills, because I’m a forgetful person. Also I’m afraid that pills will be interacting with my psych meds. I will ask for suggestions from doctor for sure, but I’d like to get more input. If anyone wants to share their experience here, that would be much appreciated

I can't really help, because I've never been on birth control. I know some people like getting the shot or the implant in the arm, because then you don't have to remember to take a pill. I have also heard that birth control can destroy your sex drive (much like psych meds).

Just a slight word of caution, I had the contraceptive injection which works for 3 months however I had an allergic reaction and was unwell for a prolonged period. Just something to think about before you make a final decision ( I wish I'd have really thought about it before going ahead )
Have a wonderful wedding and a long and happy marriage __________________ |

I had an iud, the copper seven or something like that. I never had any side effects or anything. Maybe just a little heavier period. I hope you'll find something that you'll be happy with, and good luck with everything.

I just switched from the pill (which I was on for the better part of 20 years) to an IUD. I have had some spotting which is normal but otherwise don't even notice it.

Thank you Angelique and Technigal, I read about IUD, it sounds like a good choice
