So, I have been feeling VERY slow and bloated lately, and I am starting to think it's because I haven't had my period since January, YIKES!!
I kind of let it go to the back of my mind cause, well, it was sort of a relief, but it seems I am just taking on water and my waist is just expanding and expanding and I am walking around like a balloon that's about to pop. I know it's partly because of the Lithium, Seroquel, and Resperdone, and the fact that I have NO thyroid, (was born without it). Do any of you have irregular cycles? How do you deal with it? Do birth control pills help with that? Any suggestions would be helpful. __________________ Tales of Love, Motivation, and An Interesting Journey - Please Subscribe to my Website on WordPress: Inspired Odyssey's Path to Wellness and Love |

@LadyShadow:
How old are you? The reason I ask is a year ago I started getting hot flashes and my period does whatever it wants. I am only 44. I went to my gyn and had blood work and even uterine biopsy and he didnt see any hormones that would indicate menopause. He said we were just going to "assume" it is perimenopause but I dont know much about how old you have to be to experience this. The first time I skipped a period I freaked out and thought I was pregnant which would have been against the odds since my husband had a vasectomy. __________________ "I carried a watermelon?" Could very likely be the risperidone. I don't know how long you've been on it, relative to your period stopping, but it really messed up my cycle from the very first time I started taking it. I'd only get random periods every 3-6 months, but they'd be super heavy and last for about 10 days, and then they just kept getting longer and longer in between and shorter until I hit menopause.
But it's probably worth checking with a Dr. splitimage |

I'm 39 Sarahsweets and my primary care doctor called it annerorea which means lack of period. I made an appointment with a specialist but the wait is till October!!! UGH!! I called like three places and that was the earliest I could get.
I think it could be the risperidone, but whatever it is I need some quick answers and it doesn't look I am getting them. It could be premenopause too. It could be a lot of factors. __________________ Tales of Love, Motivation, and An Interesting Journey - Please Subscribe to my Website on WordPress: Inspired Odyssey's Path to Wellness and Love |

When I still had my period (I officially went into menopause at 52) it was almost always somewhat irregular but never what you described. My gyn always said that if period doesn’t come for several months, then starts again it could be indicative of all kind of problems and it shouldn’t be ignored. You got to see ob/gyn. I can’t believe you have to wait for two months to see gyn??? It’s insane. But if that’s the case then you got to wait. But you got to see experienced gyn.

im having the same issue with irregular periods, no psych meds anymore, no formal diagnosis of pcos, tho my doc seems to have latched on to the mention in the file... im obese, and have had irregular periods my whole life but not THIS bad.. im on 36. i do have hypothyroid. so lots of things potentially. but my pcp has been super lazy lately about actually doing her job. i mean i know x could equal x but do some damn tests to be sure, its not like you have to draw the damn blood or shake the vials manually and read the data yourself...
