I'm in the UK so am particularly interested in replies from anyone from the UK. but this thread is for everyone

btw I'm a size 12. I was a size 16/18 at my biggest (about 10 years ago) I'm tall, about 5 8 or 5 9.

Age is irrelevant.

I live in the US, so I would not know. I buy plus and petite clothes on Amazon. Are you able to order through Amazon, Fuzzybear?

I am in the UK.

I am not keen on buying clothes online personally. You can never tell how they will fit and it is a lot of fuss to keep sending it back. My daughter prefers to use online because she loves to try things on at home with her other clothes. She loves ASOS.

I have shopped with supermarkets who have reasonably priced goods. Primark for lingerie and thermal leggings, some odd clothes depending on their quality. Bought some nice jumpers in Gap in a sale. M&S and next too.

This year the fashion I don't like at all. Colours don't suit me or the style. Many items look fluffy and worn before purchase.

I used to shop at thrift stores, too! Some of their clothing are really nice - things I couldn't afford brand new. Also, I purchased some great jeans, tops, and dress clothes at thrift stores. I might try to shop at those stores if I can find them in my area (I just relocated to a new state, so I don't know where everything is at yet.)

I’ve always liked to dress attractively. I don’t buy many things and wear what I have for years. I buy at discount stores, department stores in person and online. I dress the part for whatever environment I’m in. If you dropped me on a dude ranch, I’d be in cowboy boots. If you dropped me on the Champs Elysees, I’d adapt to the chic look. I gravitate to soft materials, feminine and flowy.

I haven’t been well for a long while now and got heavy, so not feeling great in clothes or too into them now. Maybe I can get better and look good again. I did buy some pretty clothes that fit though. It helps me to not feel depressed, if at least my clothes look nice.

@Thirty shades

Is using the mention option ok?

You said "supermarket". In the UK, supermarket doesn't refer to grocery stores? It does here in the US.

I buy some things at Walmart but I love going to thrift stores. it feels like a treasure hunt.

Now, I am dabbling in making some items by hand. Or by machine if I sew it, LOL

Hi @HappyCrafter

Yes okay to use mention option

In the UK we call our large food shops that have additional goods such as clothes and white goods, Supermarkets. Grocery stores is perhaps a term that applies to smaller shops just selling food.

I am sort of aware from TV shows that in the US you call them grocery stores. Do they sell reasonable quality and priced clothing too?

@Thirty shades

You know, it's confusing, LOL A grocery store is strictly food. A supermarket has food, plus household products. But, Walmart here has "supercenters"; they can be open 24 hours a day, and have just about A to Z of what you can buy. You can buy food, clothes, plumbing, paint, crafts, electronics, and on and on...............

For pricing, that can be a range also; some are dirt cheap and others are better quality, and even gourmet. And almost all are available online as well as a traditional brick and mortar store. I can get just about anything I need delivered to my home! I love that part!!

Do yawl have similar stores there, right? Omg, I would LOVE to travel to the UK!!

For beary nice clothes, , there's a store in the US called "Build-a-Bear": Shop, Explore and Play at Build-A-Bear(R)

I'm not sure if they can ship internationally, but it is worth finding out. If not, maybe build-a-bear stuff can be resold by other vendors who do ship internationally, that is, if it is legally allowed to resell their brand new stuff. There's also used beary stuff that can also be purchased.

--This is just in case you needed clothes for any bear stuffies.

@HappyCrafter

No Supercentres here that I know of. They sound great.

Our supermarkets normally have food ranges that are either a value range, supermarket own brand, big brands and premium ranges. Many are open 24 hrs 6 days a week but we have Sunday trading laws that mean they can only open for 6 hrs during the day. They have stationery, toys, garden goods, chemist, opticians and home goods. No plumbing etc for that we have DIY superstores that are separate.

We also have cheaper stores that focus on their own brands like Aldi and Lidl German stores that have moved here. They have different bargins each week but you have to be quick to get the good stuff.

Our high street fashion shops are closing in many areas due to low demand as people shop online, which is sad.

Our supermarkets do online food shopping which I quite like. Stops you overspending as I only buy what I need. We also can order clothes etc online and have a home or store delivery.

UK is a great place to visit. Some beautiful places to visit in cities and our countryside.

I have been to Florida many years ago. Had a great time at Disney and Everglades.

We used to not be able to shop on Sundays here at all, but people voted to shop on Sundays and all of that changed. And we have stores closing here too because of the shift to online shopping. Shipping to my front door is powerful and hard to beat, IMHO.

I have been to Florida a few times but that was passing through the airport on my way in and out of the country. I do hope I get to travel to the UK sometime, there is so much I want to see! But, I also want to see the East Coast here in the states because I would love to see the original 13 colonies, and much more!

Hey fuzzybear!

I am in the UK and I am quite particular when clothes shopping. Best of all I like Fatface but it's quite expensive so treats only. I also like H&M for some things and recently I have been shopping at Peacocks which is lower price range but stylish.

it's hardly ever I'll go in to an actual physical store and buy some clothes

that's usually for groceries
