We are changing to a new content management system that we use to input the content we prepare. The whole thing is such a fiasco.

We had no warning. Last Wednesday those of us that work from home were told we were needed in the office on Friday to learn about the new system. Then on Thursday we were told that the old system was going to be inoperative by Tuesday Apr. 1st, so anything being worked on there had to be sent to editing by Friday. Since I had to go to the training, I had to work quite late on Thursday to finish up everything.

The training lasted only two hours and then we were supposed to work on a project. The system is so not ready to be used. There are way too many bugs and features we need have been removed. Even without the bugs, it’s less efficient for us to use in many ways. We constantly have to upload source files that we only had to upload once in the old system, for example. And, it takes 5-6 attempts to even upload the document correctly.

Our worthless boss was AWOL; out on her mystery “medical leave”. On Friday we tried to talk to her boss, who was involved in creating the system, and IT. They were completely dismissive of us and our concerns. They said they eliminated those features because they were considered not relevant and wouldn’t listen to our explanations of why. In response to the things we mentioned needing fixing, in most cases we were told they are not a priority. Everyone is angry or upset. We feel disrespected and can’t advance in our work.

Our boss got back on Monday. She has barely said anything since then. When she has, she essentially scolds us for being impatient and tells us that this is how things work. Some newer co-workers thought she’d have our back more, but those who have been there longer knew she wouldn’t.

The thing is, our boss is lying. I have been through this process once before at this company and once at another company. The process was never so rushed; there was beta testing before switching. In the end, the system we tested at this company a few years ago was not implemented because of the problems it had. In that case, we worked on the new system about 1-2 hours a day, added our comments/problems to a google doc and then went back to the old system so we could get things done. It was similar at the other company I work with. It wasn’t just foisted on us to use for all our work from one day to the next. It’s now Thursday and we are still getting no answers.

I snuck a Pepsi into my work station and it was amazing how fast time went just because I had something to drink with me. I was 5 minutes late for break because I thought it was so much earlier then it actually was. The whole day flew by. Management was kind of iffy towards me but 2 other people were sick today too so it’s not like I was the only one calling in this week.

Kind of lost it yesterday at work. I have an intern that I basically can't stand. She is an extreme extrovert and she knows nothing. I get that interns are there to spew their stupidity because the bosses want to hear a different point of view. But I am growing sick of it. So we had a ton of work to do and my boss asked me to get someone early. When I appeared with them my boss was talking with the intern. My feet are hurting me and I just could take her stupidity any longer while *I* waited. I rolled my eyes and got caught. I feel badly but I am SOOOOO sick of stupid people blathering as if they own the place. I know my boss like to encourage that but I have a job to do and I am beyond sick of it. Why do I have to wait for the INTERN!? Plus she is so stupid.

I was an intern and I was very polite and reserved. So yes, I get annoyed as heck to see an intern taking up my time.

Work wasn’t bad today. I got a lot done. The day seemed to drag on but I had no issues. I get kind of annoyed though when my coworker is all like “what’s that smell?” When it’s very obvious it’s coming from her.

My coworkers are ridiculous when it comes to needing the bathroom. We work 5 hour shifts. They all use it right after we clock in. Why not before you clock in? Then they use it right after break. Why not on break? Then they use it an hour later when we are working. Why not wait until after work? And they are drinking their drinks at a ridiculously slow pace so it doesn’t make any sense. Meanwhile I’m chugging iced coffee and soda and I don’t use it at all. It’s just really irksome.

Another day, another stupid idea demanding to be executed, only to be wasted and forgotten because of 'change of mind'. I'm tired to do a work that ended up in a corner of my folders or the trash bin.

Turtle_Rider - I understand your frustration. I used to work for someone like that - always saying, "I need a proposal for ABC next week." In the end it would be dropped because it was too expensive, not the right timing, etc. etc. Finally after a while, he would completely forget he even asked you. He'd ask for something than never mention it again. After all the wasted work, I started to put minimal time and effort into those requests. 30 minutes looking for some links to show him if he ever asked me about it again. He rarely did.

I tried asking my manager for a locker I can actually open and he had an attitude and basically told me no. So I guess I can’t ever bring my wallet or my purse with me to work.

This is about a friend. I wrote about her before. She has a boss that hates her or rather, every single thing she does, makes him unhappy. But I think it wouldn't bother most people.

So tonight, a Friday night (before mothers day), at 4 PM... he called her into his office and told her to "have a seat" and, when she did he said, "he was thinking about making a change." So she said, what change? And he said you should talk with your "manager about that" (it is a strange structure where her boss has all the power but in name he doesn't -- so she has to talk to her "in name only" boss). Her in name only boss is not in today. She got upset as it was the weekend and said, "am I being fired?" He goes speak to your manager about that. She started to say but she isn't in... and(she was going to say) it isn't fair to leave her hanging all weekend -- he got upset with her and said, I will do what I want.

Ok, I am pretty sure this is it.

I am sorry for her but
1. it isn't as bad as it seems. She gets paid at the same pay rate no matter what job they make her do for two years. Usually by that time they move them into another position.
2. There is no way they are actually firing her. But she will be moved to another position.
3. She unfortunately brought it on herself -- yelling -- at someone on the bosses staff.
4. Ultimately I think it is the best thing for her.. she just can't see that.
5. I have been telling her for 5 years to get out and get another job in the office even if she has to make less for a few years, but she refused.

But I HATE HIM.
1. He is so arrogant. He thinks he is a god -- I HATE that someone like that can make the people who are not on his "level" suffer.
2. To use a Game of Thrones analogy, I always wanted to be Denaryas Stormborn and I am just one of the nameless minions crushed by the wheel. I hate that he gets away with it.
3. Every 8 years there is a committee put together to determine if he should keep his job. I am debating sending in a complaint... I can't really complain about this because it is second hand, but he has a public record and I could monitor it and point out all the snarky remarks. (but they would know it comes from someone who works there). I was thinking of getting all my friends friends together to make more than one submission. People should know!!
4. I know the next person will be a zillion times worse. They won't get trained right my friend has 20 years of experience. But he will probably never admit that.

My coworker made a fat shaming comment when a pretty heavy coworker was within earshot. It was something about how all fat people smell bad and don’t take showers properly. A manager made the same comment in front of a different coworker. Sometimes I just don’t understand people.

My patience was tested all week. An 18 year old coworker complained about being stuck in the office learning CNC programming. A few times I really wanted to tell him to shut up, but I forced myself not to. I did ask him nicely to stop complaining. It helped a little bit.

Same here. minimal effort is the only thing we can do. We have to suck it up with this situation, unfortunately :/

I was buying something at work but I didn’t have any money on me so I called my mom to come in and 3 of my coworkers came up to her and me and introduced themselves and said “hi, were Mountaindewed friends.” And they kept going on for about 3 minutes. Meanwhile I’m feeling super embarrassed and awkward. My mom was like wtf these people are being weird. It’s like who the **** does that? My mom says you introduced yourself to your friends parents in the 50’s not now. I’m still feeling really weird from it.

My boss has been acting weird towards me ever since I returned from my honeymoon. I had sent him and the CEO a note with some pics from our wedding while we were away (that's the kind of company it is), jokingly stating that I was moving and not coming back. When I returned, my boss almost seemed disappointed I was back and said "I really thought you weren't coming back". He's been stand-offish ever since Monday. I hope it just has to do with something else going on and nothing about me.

Although I got approached by Monster.com for a job while I was away, so I wrote back and expressed my interest.

Did you talk to them about the social media content position?

I called into work today. I didn’t get to bed until close to 2. I feel kind of bad. I have a lot of sick hours so I don’t think I can get into legit trouble.

I'm supposed to submit a proposal on how we can do our current social media marketing better. It looks like it could be a slow process to move into a new role there, contingent on them being able to sell their SMM services and obtain more clients who want social media marketing. I don't have the patience, and I'm not even sure now if that is the direction I wish to go. I am very down about my job right now, especially after returning from vacation this week. I think I may leave sooner than that, if this interview goes well that just popped up.
