Hey everyone!

After countless interviews for the past few months, I finally landed a job. I come from a corporate background, so this is definitely a step down, but it's the best I can do while on disability. I applied for several office jobs, but found myself shying away from them. I have the experience, but I want to work with people. So, I accepted a job as a cashier for Burlington Coat Factory.

It's an AWESOME store and the people are so nice. The best part about it is, (besides having a nice extra income), is I am right across the street from "ACCES VR" which is a training facility and career coaching center for people who want to go back into the workforce full-time through the "Ticket-To-Work" Program while on disability. I can train there for a government or state job while I work at Burlington and be on my way to getting my life together after being in such darkness for so long.

So, just remember, if you think you can't do it, there is hope, because you absolutely can.

I never thought I would be here at all in my life.

Party at my house ya'll!!

Thanks everyone for the wonderful congratulations!! I am definitely happy. I am kinda scared though because they have me starting out working 8-hour shifts on my feet with closing one day. I am a little scared but I just gotta wear comfortable shoes!!

@Nammu - Damn that sounds so yummy! I personally like tortilla chips with spinach and artichoke dip, you should try it!

@HappyCrafter - I definitely happy and excited! I start on Tuesday! You know, I walked around the store and they have a mix of everything - cooking, bedding, clothes, shoes, crafts, car supplies - I mean I never saw a store put together so conveniently - I was so tempted to go shopping with money I didn't even have yet, haha!

Special hugs for my dear FuzzyBear and TravelingLady, thanks so much for the warm wishes and hugs!!

I am so excited about it!!! Congrats!!!!And I admire you for wanting to have a job to supplement disability and get training in the future. I applaud you and you are a true inspiration!!!

Wear gym shoes with memory foam and if you are don’t want them to look like gym shoes get the ones that look a bit more like shoes maybe black that blend with long black pants do it doesn’t look like working out. Sketchers make some. They aren’t the best for actual working out but they are good for retail job or any job on your feet

Stephen Hawking once rightly said, "However difficult life may seem, there's always something you can do, and succeed at. While there's life, there is hope."

There should be no boundary to human endeavor. I come from a chemistry background -- I cannot switch to physics now -- but I plan getting a PhD in quantum chemistry, and it is my goal to give a theory on quantum gravity, a.k.a a Theory of Everything.

It's hard. I am not an excellent student, but to give a theory on quantum gravity I must be an outstanding scientist. I will get better in almost everything as I practice and practice more and learn new things in mathematics and physics. A theory of everything is something not even Einstein could give. So I must work my hardest if I want to give a theory of everything.
