So my company went out of business early last year. So I had to look for a new job.

First job, just a toxic workplace. Found out people were aiming for the position I got and nobody was helpful. Boss didnt care and got out after 6 mo.

New job, started about 3 mo ago. Everyone likes me, says im doing great, customers, etc.... but my boss is a total control freak insecure type. Can't win him over. I think it may be some jealousy too that others like my work and i am getting the credit. I don't really care I just want to do my job. But he told me today he thinks i'd be better suited for a different position. What!?!? After 3 months?

I'm really sick and tired. Feel like i've had a bad run here. This job is starting to really suck now. I can stick it out another 3 months I guess but what gurantee's me that the next gig will be just as bad or worse.

Seems like I'm in a rut here.

there is no promise a new job will be better you are right and with the economy as it is a job is a job.

three months is not a long time. you didn't say what type of company or position it is, but depending on your skills and the position it can take that long or longer to feel comfortable in the position. as for winning over your supervisor, that really may never happen..his job isn't to be your friend, it is to be your boss. he may nev er cross that line. he may just come in, do his work and leave. don't be offended. your job is to come to work and do your work, not try to win him over.

as for everyone aiming for the position, that may or may not be true...did you get a position at a higher level then others? there is always talk of that, regardless of where you are employed. regardless of such, you applied, and were hired based on your qualifications. anyone says anything, tell them that or ask them to go to personnel.

why is it toxic? because boss didn't care & got out after 6 months? something you are talking about? but what makes it toxic? workload? pay? etc.

showing employment of 3-6 months on your resume and listing it as a result of "toxic" will not help you to be hired elsewhere. realistically, the point of a workplace is to work. no one hires you to play in drama. they hire you to work. as an employee you should be able to decide what is more important...some employees complaining or causing drama or the work you were hired to do. you don't have to be friends with everyone there, or hang out with them, or marry them. but you do have to perform at a standard set by your employer.

it sounds harsh but it's true. people can ***** and moan about how the boss hates me or my coworkers hate me but really that isn't the issue. are you able to perform your job standards? yes it's nice if everyone plays nice and is happy but the company needs to make $$ that is the bottom line.

so you can quit and try to get another job. who will your bills if it takes months or a year to find another one? and what if that one is not to your liking?

my advice...suck it up and work. do your job, ignore the drama
