My boss suggested I become a substitute teacher, go back to school. I think that's a good idea. For a future job. Only I don't know how to go about it. I have a degree but need licensure I'm in Minnesota. I've looked into it before, but never have done it. Any ideas where to look? I don't remember.

Found it but applied in wrong category. Emailed dept. In 3 days I'll get a response. Oh well. Try again.

Personally I’d rather do anything else on this planet but be a substitute. If you want to work with kids, but don’t want to be a full time teacher, become a paraprofessional/teacher assistant. But I have to say it doesn’t pay well.

Aviza, you need to apply to Teachers On Call if you live in the Twin Cities. They outsource substitute teachers to multiple school districts. You'll have to give them your transcript from your college (doesn't matter how old you are) and your driver's license, and do their onboarding before you will be able to go on AESOP to select schools you want to substitute teach in. I recommend you use the phone apps Jobulator or SubAlert because they will notify you when sub jobs are available as they are connected to AESOP. Good luck.
