One bit of good news is my supervisors are so much better than the ones I used to have. A lot of people are away on holiday next month and they need cover but instead of just putting me down for the lot with no choice they actually asked me nicely if I could work extra and I could choose my shifts. This is so much more pleasant an environment to work in.

I finally reached over 20 hours of work each week next month. I am ok but am tired most of the time though. The prep work is monumental. I spend half of my time doing prep work for my classes. But, the rest of the time I sleep. I am happy I finally reached my goal of working over 20 hours a week. It means a lot to me because I can support myself barely now.

Well, I got a loan that will cover my new employee for a number of months, until she's up to speed and producing, and it will likely be forgiven too! I am very grateful for this opportunity the universe has given me to grow my business. It feels scary sometimes, but I know it's going to be great. All change is scary, and this is a big change, but I also know this is the next step.

It feels great to support myself but it is hard work. I am running around sometimes like a chicken with its head cut off. I am busy although I work a little over 20 hours a week. It took me three hours today to prep for five lessons though and this is not included in the 20 hours of teaching I do. I was asked to implement some new teaching methods into my lessons too. So, I must do this and have to think about how I am going to do this. But, overall, I am doing great and am grateful to my family and my company. Most of all, I am happy that my medication is working!

I have an interview for a Director level role! That's the good news. He hasn't replied to my first response in order to confirm a date and time. It's been 48 hours and I am waiting impatiently.

Wow, so I had someone who got referred to me check out my new website and read about me, then she contacted me using my client inquiry form. When I talked to her, she said my website was very professional and my approach and expertise was apparent, which is why she decided to reach out. And I signed her today, and it will be a good size contract. I had just told my new employee that I was going to suspend new client acquisition for a few weeks while I work to train her on our current accounts, but this one came through and since it was a referral, I took it and it's just going to be great. The funny thing is that with my new employee, I had done the financials and figured we needed to add X amount to break even between her and my salary and expenses for the year. I had thought it would be multiple projects, but this one could completely fill that gap. I'm amazed at how our hard work continues to pay off.

Good for you bpforever while you are working hard right now with the lesson planning after a while that will come easier. Most teachers do more than just the time they are teaching. You’ll get better at this. |

Good work news for me is that I was able to get reinstated at my job after taking a bit of time off due to depression and stuff.

I've increased my firm's hourly rate twice this summer, and now we're billing over $100/hr. It's a huge accomplishment just to value my contributions at that rate and not feel like an imposter. I know money or pay is not an indicator of worth, but i realized there is something to be said for valuing one's self to the world and showing you do. Since I raised our rates or my rate, really, I've been getting more serious, better quality clients and things are really taking off. I could not have believed I'd be where I am right now 3 years ago, when I got laid off. I'm not absolving them of any wrongdoing in that layoff, which I sued them over (and settled), but 3 years later I'm certainly glad I'm not letting anyone boss me around anymore and that I'm taking all my expertise and letting it work for me instead of for someone else.

There is a new opening for a contract employee position at my company. I applied for it. The pay is not great but the position should have benefits. I don't know what to expect. I am happy about it and am keeping my finger crossed. I hope I can work as a company employee then become a permanent employee. It would be a dream!

I had a call with the client I do freelance writing for. They said they are really happy with my work. They are raising my hourly rate by 10% and are going to pay for me and the other writers to take some sort of professional development course for business writers.
