I feel for you. I've gone through unemployment three times. It's one of the most demoralizing, discouraging and challenging experiences I've ever had. You have to work really hard at it to build up your resume in any way possible to land a full time position again. Hang in there & keep plugging away.

Please don't give up and try to persevere! I was unemployed for two years and just found a job again. I moved in with my parents while I was unemployed and it has been difficult to say the least. I suggest to keep looking for jobs while improving your resume. In the meantime, hopefully, you have family or friends who can help you through these times. I did not like living at home with my parents but it saved me much money while I was recovering from psychosis which was my fault due to non-compliance. I have been unemployed many years because of my illness but was blessed to find work right after recovery. I do thank my family for helping me and allowing me to rest.

Sorry you are dealing with this, lowpoint. I've gone through several stints of unemployment myself and I know how demoralizing it can be. I know there have been some discussions here of resources for job seekers. One is called the dislocated workers program, I think. Maybe you can look into options where you live.

I am so sorry for the pain life has brought you. It is just not easy to be a human in this world at times. I hope you can find a way to turn that pain into an energy force that can bring you a positive change. Art therapy may be a good way for you to do just that. Also, you can earn money online from selling art. Some of the best art comes from some of the darkest places in the soul. The choice belongs to you.

Hey, how are you doing? Just reading these threads because I'm in a similar position and it feels hopeless feeling like you're the only one struggling, or that you're struggling because of some personal inadequacy or failure. (just to be clear, I don't think that being unemployed is a personal failure, just that it feels like it)

I know your unemployment situation may have started before this virus took hold but many states have already changed their policies and passed bills to help the unemployed and they are including people like freelancers, gig workers, servers who rely on tips, etc. The federal government is on the verge of actually doing something as well. What state do you live in?
