For thinking too long and not working. Yes really. I don't even think that's a legal reason to write someone up. She knows i have a disability and treats me like I'm disabled and pays me less than my coworkers. I want to file a claim against her but i don't know where to start. I'm the black sheep of the group. Every mistake is my fault, even if it's not. I was literally trying to think what to work on. And yes was staring into space.

Do you have a Human Resources department? If so, I would submit a formal complaint of discrimination. If not, then I would contact an employment lawyer for a free consultation regarding disability harassment and discrimination. I think you have a legitimate case --- if you are paid less for the same exact work as your co-workers, then you have a case of discrimination, and since there was a disciplinary action for nothing that would be considered as breaking a work policy, you have a legitimate case. Staring into space for a few minutes should not be considered breaking work policies. I would follow up and fight for your rights. This is not OK. OR, I would just leave.... but I am personally a fighter and if it were me, I would pursue it with HR or through legal means.

wow. Yeah those smaller privately owned companies can really pull some ********.. make up some rules.. I had a boss that wrote me up for laughing.. while everyone else laughed.. at a non office meeting that was described as a retreat.. yeah.. and then it all was just more ******** then on.. we had no policies on getting write ups and probationary periods... but there was the dumb **** the best part was i was placed on that probation for 90 days.....so it expired right... three months go by never hear anything about issues NOTHING and few days later I get an email saying she was continuing the probation.. so I called her out saying she didnt do it within the time and it was based on untrue BS.. like I was late one morning like two months ago.. OMG this lady was ridiculous. She had a high school diploma and her husband was chummy with the owner only qualifications...

Sadly unless one works for government/state agency/entity and is unionized, employers could pay whatever salaries they want (as long as it meets minimum wage requirement). There sometimes is no rhyme or reason to what people get paid. They could hire ten people in retail for example and offer all ten different salary and there is nothing you can do. They can give different raises, and it’s not always because of who does a better job. Also if you are a part time employee sadly your hours are not guaranteed. They can cut them any time

You don’t even supposed to know what other people get paid. Is it fair? No. But that’s how it works.

I think it’s worth to take a look if other doctors offices hire. You have enough experience and you deserve better treatment

Yup thats how my last job was . They would bargain wages with new hires and randomly give people increases. Then Theyd have people sign agreements to not share what what their rate is with other staff. Basically it was up to you to decide if once you found out if someone made more than you, was it worth staying there?

Small businesses with fewer than 15 employees are generally exempt from discrimination laws. On the other hand if your boss really didn't like you he/she would just fire you. So you must have some value.

In the US they can fire or write you up for whatever they want especially if it is an at-will state. Sure, they arent supposed to discriminate against people with disabilities but it happens all the time.
